Job description:

General Role Purpose

Supervision, the Mining fleet maintenance dispatch process by correctly managing/classifying shutdowns, identifying opportunities for improvement and generating fleet performance reports.

Qualifications & Knowledge & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Technician or related discipline.
• 5 or more years of experience in open pit mobile maintenance.
• Experience in maintenance condition management, following a time use model.
• Knowledge of mining fleet symptoms and failure modes.
• Have participated in related maintenance processes: identification, planning, scheduling, execution or completion.
• Perform reports and dashboard in Power Bi or other similar BI tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to work in a "team" environment.
• Ability to maintain self-discipline in a stressful environment.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Strong understanding and ability in relation to positive safety culture, practical application of risk assessment, hazard identification/control and incident management/reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor team members.

Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables 

• Maximize the quality of information, correctly classifying status and sub status through the maintenance dispatcher.
• Maintain records of incoming and outgoing transmissions as well as other files and records in support of maintenance Optimization.
• Ensure the creation of all unscheduled corrective work orders in the field, following the information quality objective.
• Facilitate the work team's processes and procedures for proper communication with supervisors or crews via telephone or two-way radio.
• Review preventive maintenance schedules and facilitate the proper administration of shutdowns and statuses during their execution.
• Find the necessary mechanisms to support field equipment with timely failure information, symptoms and pre-assessment to minimize downtime.
• Generate fleet management reports, KPI's, Availability, MTBF, MTTR or other requested indicators.
• Perform any other related duties required.

Operational Requirements

Cobre Panama is a remote site. This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Cobre Panama site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.

Environmental Responsibilities

• Comply with current environmental regulations in Panama
• Comply with the commitments contained in the Environmental Impact Studies and other additional studies in this regard, which apply to your area and activities.
• Comply with the provisions of the Minera Panama Environmental Management System.
