Job description:

The purpose of this document is to collect information to aid in the recruitment process and provide a comprehensive understanding of the position. Our goal is to attract high-quality candidates by showcasing the full scope of the job.

Can you please share the essential requirements and non-negotiables for the position?

Mining engineer or related with a good attitude to learn and have a long term view to influence the business through their work and dedication and be able to create opportunities for their career without the need for previous experience.

Can you please share the short-term (0 to 6 months) and longer-term objectives in this position?

Short term:

• Understand how to operate a machine safely and their capabilities and limitations.
• Understand how to safely control operations on a production bench and keep machinery operating at maximum efficient rates.
• Understand how targets are created from the daily, weekly and monthly planning process and maintain, validate, use data for mine dispatch reporting.
• Understand about drill and blast process, concepts of blast design, timing and initiation.
• They must need to go through all the areas of the value chain of the mining process and understand the basics of each area.

Medium and Long term:

• Manage a moderate size team of people; be responsible for a large number of valuable resources, motivate the team to perform and exceed.
• Understand the difficulties of working a shift rotation and Fatigue management.
• Develop interpersonal, supervisory and managerial skills.
• Be able to present solutions to middle management.
