Job description:

Purpose of the role

This position will provide an opportunity to learn and gain experience in the field of mine water management in a challenging and constantly evolving work environment.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience in hydrochemistry, hydrology, water quality monitoring and data analysis.

Job & Candidate Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Over the program you will have an opportunity to gain experience in a variety of environmental areas across the business to support your progression, main tasks and development are going to be focused on:

  • Collect, review, and analyze water quality parameters, and determine geochemical trends.
  • Manage and monitor data quality and control analysis on internal and external data and implementing improvements as needed to meet data quality objectives.
  • Generate internal and external reports of water quality.
  • Oversee inspections of operations to ensure permit compliance including accompanying periodic inspections of work areas on and off the mine site.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science, hydrology, Hydrogeology, or related field required.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Familiar with using GIS systems, water quality analysis, statistics.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to an audience of senior management as well as other stakeholders
  • Flexible and adaptable – capable of changing direction when required and flexible to meet new demands.
